BEARISH means a bearish trend in the market. Buying means we buy some currency and if the rate is rising, we take profit. This expression refers to the direction of their trade. Being in a long position means that you brought, while waiting for the price to increase. Being in a short position means that you have sold, hoping that the price will fall. These two concepts represent a direction of the market as a whole. A bull market means it is rising and a bear market is falling. Most markets have a sale and purchase price. They're also known as Bid (bid) - the sale price and Ask (ask) - the purchase price. The difference between these prices is called the spread.
